Argumentative Essay Papers
When writing an argumentative paper one should have an opinion on a certain subject matter. The following are the contents of a good an argumentative paper.
Thesis
A good argumentative paper should have a good thesis. The thesis of argumentative paper should not be general ‘specific’, accurate, and they should be arguable in such away that a reasonable reader of that argumentative paper can disagree with. A good argumentative paper thesis should be descriptive. It should not be factual in such a way that it does not provide room for arguments. This means that it should be debatable. To come up with a good thesis, the writer needs to revise the whole argumentative paper and reflect what he has written.
Context
The first thing in an argumentative paper is the introduction. This is where the writer tells his readers what is going to happen. The writer gives the reader the background information of the whole argumentative paper. The type of context of a give argumentative paper depends only on the targeted population. If the writer is going to write a short or a small argumentative paper then he needs not to write a big context. The context can be included in the thesis section but in its own few paragraphs. In the context this is where the writer brings out the whole framework of the argumentative paper. The writer arranges his work in the way he is going to present it to the reader.
Reason
In a good argumentative paper the reasons and the thesis forms the arguments of the paper. Sometimes reasons can form part of conclusion of the argumentative paper. The writer presents what he has to say to reader and this will form the basis of argument hence the argumentative paper. The writer brings out each point after the other and they should be supported by examples. A good argumentative paper should have a topic reason sentence which forms the thesis of the whole paper. The rest of the paper consist the reasons which do gives explanations on the whole context of the argumentative paper. The writer of the argumentative paper should use inference indicators so as to distinguish clearly what reason is for.
Counter-Arguments
Argumentative paper should have objections. These are for the readers who will not at all agree with the reasons that are given in the argumentative paper. The writer should as much as possible try to avoid the objections in the argumentative paper. Put the strongest objections in the thesis of the argumentative paper or in the reasons you are giving out in the paper. A good argumentative paper should be revised by another person other than the writer so as to help him to come up with good counter arguments. As a result of this a writer can find himself in position of considering counter arguments rather than the initial arguments in the argumentative paper. This can result to a revision or adding some materials in the argumentative paper.
Response
The last part of the argumentative paper is the response. Here the writer gives the answers of the objections presented in the thesis or to the reasons used in the argumentative paper. There two ways of doing the response in the argumentative paper. The first one is the straightforward approach; tell the reader why the counter argument used in the argumentative paper is false. The second approach is to concede that the counter argument have merit.
